Around 1998 I created the “BDE Alternatives Guide”, which listed (and reviewed) dozens of data access libraries for Delphi. Delphi shipped with the Borland Database Engine – which had its advantages but also quite a few negatives, thus leading many Delphi developers to look elsewhere.
The content eventually became completely obsolete, as my work moved away from Delphi onto other technology and business areas. Finally around 2019 I removed it, as it was probably more harm than good at that point.
