Vendor's Description (from Readme files, web site, etc.):
Our initial tests have shown at least a 100% increase in the
performance of applications built with Titan, and the reduction
in the size and number of files to distribute has been
decreased dramatically. All of the benefits come with the added
ability to use 3rd party components such as InfoPower and
Orpheus.
Titan SQLAnywhere uses the same SqlAnywhere function calls
that Sybase calls when using embedded SQL in C programs. This
API is undocumented, but fully supported by Sybase. This API is
the same one that their ODBC driver calls. This is where we get
our speed.
BDE Alternatives Guide Comments:
Sybase considers both ODBC and the interface mentioned above
"native" for SQL Anywhere.
The vendor indicates that Titan SQLAnywhere is the only
Delphi SQLAnywhere interface to provide you with access to your
blob fields that are larger than 32k. However, the SQLA ODBC
driver has been fixed, so it is now possible to use large BLOBs
via the ODBC solutions as well.
I [Kyle] tried this product, and except for a few glitches
in the early version I was using, it was a fast and easy way to
access SQL Anywhere data.
