Vendor's Description (from Readme files, web site, etc.):
The Btrieve component is an encapsulation of Btrieve
Technologies database engine for Windows 95. It was designed
for the use of existing Btrieve files that didn't fit the more
modern use of Btrieve where a DFD file could be created
describing the field positions within the database.and thus
allowing ODBC (or other 3rd party components) access to the
tables. TBtr encapsulates most raw Btrieve calls as well as
adding a few nice ways of setting up the component using
existing Btrieve tables. A reasonable knowledge of Btrieve is
assumed. TBtr has been tested using Btrieve 6.15 (32 bit
version) running on Windows '95.
BDE Alternatives Guide Comments:
NOTE: Since Btrieve has a Client/Server option, in theory
this component could be used for C/S development.
Version 1.1 add the ability to do streaming to a BTrieve
file.
