I find the keyboard to be the worst thing about the MacBook Pro. I miss all those keys, and a few others -- like having a Control key in the far lower right corner.

What I love most is the trackpad gestures. Learning the 2-finger and 3-finger gestures partly makes up for the missing keys.

Thanks for the tip. I just downloaded Path Finder, and it seems likely I will purchase it.

Just in case you don't already know about them... Function+Up/Down work as page-up/page-down, and Fn+Delete works as a (true) delete. I also miss the real, dedicated keys, but these are still handy.

Also, Finder's a generally anemic file manager. I continue to use it for simple tasks, but for any heavy lifting, I prefer CocoaTech's Path Finder. It's not perfect, but it's light years beyond Finder (and it handles cutting & pasting of files).

Certain emacs keys work in practically all OS X apps. Most notable of these is delete, Control-D. (C-a and C-e work as well). Since emacs keybindings are a second nature to me, I don't notice the lack of Delete key. YMMV, naturally.
